The Countdown to Bowiemass begins around midsummer and has a designated David Bowie album to be played each Sunday in its entirety. The countdown ends with Blackstar being designated to the nearest Sunday to his birthday, concluding the Sunday after with Lazarus and the posthumous No Plan.

Bowiemass itself is a little festival that starts on January 8th and ends January 10th

When I was writing ‘We’re All Working Together’, around 2014, I started listening to a David Bowie album each week, trying to get a sense of the order and the connections between each release. This became a kind of ritual after his death, where we would begin in Summer and end around his birthday on the 8th January. At that time we were close enough to London to visit the telephone booth on Heddon Street (piss stinking, non-original that it is, tucked where only the tramps roam), perhaps a quick stop at the Prettiest Starbucks nearby, then the mural in Brixton. That became Bowiemass.

This year, I have used the collected Era box sets as a basic for the structure.
