VIOLENTIA MUNDI
Violentia Mundi: Violentia Mundi is a setting based in the rules of D&D 5e. The setting is a standalone concept, existing as a world trapped in a magical artifact, the Universarium, which in turn is buried in the forgotten treasuries of a long dead and forgotten Queen. This artifact was once used to create stories and entertainments, but often risked the storyteller becoming lost and trapped within that world..
Pax donec nulla pax, tunc violentia
The name Violentia Mundi comes from the Latin for “the violence of the world”, and refers not to the violence done in the world but to how violence can imprison those within the world.
Although it brings forth the idea of a world entirely consumed by the path of violence and aggression, it is a prayer to remain protected from that violence, and a warning that violence will keep you imprisoned if you succumb to it.
Violentia Mundi is a name for this campaign setting and will cover any story set within the world. The sub-title of “Pax donec nulla pax, tunc violentia” translates to “Peace until there is no peace, then violence.” and refers to the overarching threat of the world turning towards darkness and destruction. The world of this setting has much that is ideal but it is built upon deep mysteries and these stories are set within a time that suggests the chance for that peace to vanish is all too near.
All of this , as it develops will be there at the Mobius Engine Patreon.
