Privacy, Identity and Verification
Biometrics is a method whereby a person is recognised according to personal traits; such as eye, face, ear, hand, gait, odour, DNA, voice, the reflection of radio waves within the body, the reflection/resonance of sound waves within the skull, personality, memories and psychological typing. All of these characteristics are registered and the ID acts as a representation of that information where called upon by authorised surveillance or authentication.
The ID replaces the conventional biometrics, the ID logs changes in health and age and can be re-authenticated and re-authorised in the case of revocation. The ID also acts as a pseudonym for the actual identity of the person, an intelligent means of both verification and privacy.
Tracking without intrusion
There are many incidental benefits to the ID, including user access to the ID's statistical information but the main advantage of the ID system is that it will be able to authenticate the user without giving away any personal information. The ID acts as a recognised authentication of the user, a mark of their biological integrity ( from a security point of view ) and their personal authority within any situation.
The most powerful aspect of ID is that it's security is the identity, and the identity is the authorisation. It is not possible to use the system whilst protecting that identity from being disclosed. Registering of the ID is required in order to proceed with any form of authorisation. Systems will bestow certain privileges of authority dependent upon the successful authentication of the ID.
Privacy and real world Pseudonymity
The ID system is not a guarantee of anonymity, as you would be protected from disclosing your identity to authorised scanners and therefore not be accountable for your actions. The ID handles this by providing a pseudonym for the real identity that remains anonymous but can be reverse traced to provide accountability. The ID also offers the benefits of un-linkable actions, effectible blocking all non-authorised scanning of activity and passive scan surveillance.
The ID system provides tailored consent to the collection of certain associated data by scans within specific situations; full disclosure may occur with the intervention of the court. The security of the ID system resides in the individuals real identity and is not held by any one agency, though it cannot guarantee personal safety it can guarantee information security.
